NEW FEATURES


  • Compatibility with Oculus Touch and HTC Vive controllers
Twinmotion 2018 v2 is now compatible with Oculus Touch and HTC Vive controllers. Users can immerse themselves in BIMmotion using VR controllers while the VR mode is activated.
  • New environment setting options
More environmental options — including Sun power, Ambient power and White balance — are added to Twinmotion 2018 v2, which allow you to customize the environment in real-time.
*The GI setting is now moved from the Preferences to the environment panel.
  • Overdraw
Overdraw is an option added to the Image and Video output settings.
Overdraw defines the percentage of additional pixels rendered virtually during exports (the final export resolution stays the same). By adding overdraw to your output media (image or video), the quality of the output will be improved, especially the reflections.
*The higher the overdraw is, the greater the use of additional GPU and memory will be.
Here is a comparison of an output with overdraw at 0% and 100%.

  • Texture preview
The thumbnail of an imported texture is added to the texture menu. Duplicate material is also possible with this update.
  • Statistics
Statistics function is added to the right panel, under the list of Phasing / BIM Information / Transform. The statistics show you information including: FPS, GPU/CPU usage, File loading time, counter of polygons/objects/textures, last image render time and last video render time.
  • Batch rendering
The export dock is reworked to allow the batch rendering of the four different media.
  • Two new saving features
The Auto save option is activated through the Preferences menu. Its function is to save a copy of your file at pre-defined intervals. You could also define the number of saves and their destination in the preferences window. The Autosave option is deactivated by default.
Incremental save is activated through the save menu options. Its function is to save a copy of the file you are working on, so you can backtrack to a previous version.
  • Two-sided option is added to the material setting dock.
  • New material apply mode, allows to choose between “Apply a material only to an object” and “Replace a material by a new one”.
  • Physic mode is now available in both, viewport and in BIMmotion. When activated using the shortcut “M”, the eye level is fixed to pedestrian eye level and collision is activated.
  • The GI option is available on both the PC and Mac versions
  • Twinlinker is the online platform of Twinmotion. It allows you to upload images, videos and panoramas to Twinlinker and share them easily and quickly with your clients.

NEW LIBRARY SOURCES

  • Water materials under Library – Materials – Water.
  • 18 Particles under Library – Furnitures – Particles, including fire, smoke, waterfall, fountains, fog, etc…
  • 22 Interior plants under Library – Furnitures – Home – Livingroom – Plants.
  • 2 PRM animation options added to the character animation list.

OPTIMIZATIONS

  • 360° output: optimization of the rendering time for all 360° media, including 360° panoramas, 360° videos and 360° stereoscopic videos. The rendering time is now 2-4 times faster.
  • Skies: optimization of the sky in both Twinmotion viewport and BIMmotion. The performance in real-time in Twinmotion is 1.7 to 2 times faster.

IMPROVEMENTS

More than 480 improvements have been done for Twinmotion 2018 v2. Among them are some major improvements, listed here:
Synchronization ARCHICAD – Twinmotion
  • The stability of the synchronization between ARCHICAD and Twinmotion has been reinforced.
  • The color synchronized from ARCHICAD now remains the same in Twinmotion.
  • The UV of objects are now preserved during the synchronization.
Material
  • It’s now possible to remove multiple materials using the “Delete” button or right click on “Delete” in the material list.
  • The modifications of materials are now preserved after the reload of a .skp file.
  • Improving the stability of the material applying functions, including applying a material to an object or replacing a material by another one in the library.
User Library
  • Objects from the user library now are displayed correctly after saving and reopening the project.
  • Objects can now be saved successfully in the user library on Twinmotion Mac version.
  • An object from the user library now is displayed correctly in BIMmotion mode, on both the computer that generated the BIMmotion file and on the computer that received the BIMmotion file.
  • The texture of an object from the user library is now preserved while applying the object to a custom path.
  • A Twinmotion project which contains elements from the user library can now be reopened correctly.
  • Correction of the issue concerning the duplication of a material while applying an object from the user library.
BIMmotion
  • Improving the stability of the BIMmotion at the launch of BIMmotion file or when closing the BIMmotion window.
  • The physical mode in BIMmotion now works correctly.
  • The free ride mode now works correctly.
  • Export of BIMmotion to a folder with special characters now works correctly.
Paths
  • The creation of the character path is now more stable.
  • Correction of the physical mode of the character path.
  • The path can now be selected and deselected easily.
  • Correction of several issues of vehicle path that caused certain vehicles to disappear.
  • Correction of certain vehicles that freeze at the end of the path.
Dock Media
  • Improving the stability of the software while exporting a video or removing a media.
  • The burger menu of the dock media now displays correctly.
  • The video clip can now be duplicated correctly.
  • The phasing mode in video setting now works correctly.
  • The video clip now keeps the FOV setting of the first camera
Divers
  • The stability of Import and Reload has been reinforced.
  • Network license now requests the activation only at the first launch.
  • The user interface has been improved.
  • The sections now work correctly.
  • The Instance & Copy functions have been improved.
  • The Twinmotion user library and the configuration elements are now easier to locate:

BIMmotion

在Twinmotion中,經由滑桿操作來調節天氣和四季,如同小孩的遊戲一般簡單和有趣。無論是經由定義地理座標和日期來調控陽光,亦或是直接定義陽光強度、亮度、陰影…,改變季節、調節天氣、甚至調節污染的濃度,在Twinmotion中都變得極其簡單。天空、雲的類型、霧、雨、雪、風,無論您選擇添加那些效果,專案中的樹木都會隨之進行即時的改變。您甚至可以即時的看到地面上濺起的雨滴和反射出天空顏色的水坑。所見即所得,無論是雷雨或是晴天,Twinmotion中的一切操作都會即時呈現。

植被

一個簡單的「筆刷」工具允許您“粉刷”一塊土地甚至一片森林。您可以選擇植物種類、自訂植物的大小和密度。所有Twinmotion中提供的植物都是動態的,樹葉隨風飄動,葉子的顏色隨四季變化。資源庫中還提供多種岩石模型和植物牆壁模型。「筆刷」工具可以應用在Twinmotion中的所有幾何模型。

自訂路徑 & 移動

只需幾下點擊,您即可在Twinmotion中添加3D人物或人群;添加一排騎自行車的動態人物;添加一排或多排動態汽車,您可以調節它們的數量、密度、前進方向或速度等等。同樣的,您可以定義人群、車輛的行駛路徑,並自訂行駛路徑上任何一個人物或車輛的位置… 在Twinmotion 2018中為專案添加生命力是再簡單不過的操作。

地形模型

PBR (Physically-Based Rendering)(物理渲染) 材質

Twinmotion 2018獨一無二的全域照明(GI Global illumination)* 功能使您的項目在即時瀏覽或渲染動畫中更加逼真。全域照明經由直接光源與間接光源來照亮您的專案。Twinmotion同時具備人造光源(可編輯的IES),您可以經由滑桿非常快速的調節光的強度、顏色、角度等等。光源可根據設定在白天自動關閉,夜晚自動開啟。

*目前,全域光只支持PC版本。Mac版本的全域光功能在開發中。
